*Students will be placed in the appropriate class based on age and ability at our mandatory placement classes*
*All students must ALWAYS be in proper dance attire. NO baggy clothing, pajama pants, or street shoes are to be worn in the classroom at any time. If your teacher feels that you are not dressed appropriately for class, you may be asked to sit out, this is mainly for your safety!*
Mommy/Daddy and Me
Please bring your child in comfortable clothing, and supportive sneakers. No sandals of any kind will be allowed, for your child’s safety. Socks or barefoot are also acceptable.
Creative Movement & Kinder-dance Comfortable clothing that your child can move in. Tights and leotards are not mandatory for creative movement, but should be worn for kinderdance. Tap and ballet shoes are REQUIRED for both, and Jazz shoes are strongly recommended for kinderdance, but clean “for studio use only” sneakers can also be worn.
Ballet and Pointe
ALL ballet levels and pointe classes should be in appropriate ballet attire. Convertible or full-footed pink or tan tights and a leotard MUST be worn to EVERY class. Ballet skirts and leg warmers can be kept on for the class’s entirety, but dance shorts, or cover ups can only be used during warm-ups and then must be removed. Pink ballet slippers or Pointe shoes must be worn to every class. Hair MUST always be pulled away from the face. A bun is not necessary, as long as the hair is neatly pulled back. NO big or long hanging jewelry may be worn.
Tap and Jazz
Appropriate black capri or full length dance pants, or black dance shorts may be worn for any tap or jazz class. A leotard or tight fitted dance shirt may be worn. For levels I and II, any color pant may be worn as long as it is form fitting and of the appropriate length. NO jeans or non-stretchy material may be worn at any time. The appropriate tap and jazz shoes MUST be worn to every class. Jr Company and Company members are required to have black jazz sneakers.
Contemporary and Modern
Any form fitting clothing is appropriate for these classes. There is no color restriction, your comfort during these classes is key! Traditionally both contemporary and modern are danced bare foot, but if you prefer you can wear food undiez or ballet slippers. Hair should be neatly pulled back, and no big or long hanging jewelry should be worn.
Hip hop students should wear comfortable sweat pants and t-shirts, as well as clean sneakers. No big jewelry. Part of hip hop is expressing your own individuality, so dress code is more lax, but please make sure you come prepared to dance. NO sweatshirts or overly baggy clothing or jeans will be permitted.
